PLAYGROUND LEGENDS

The highest recognition for someone who dominates streetball action is "Playground Legend". This is the ultimate ranking known to streetballers and some NBA players. Just like the "King of the Court", but there something more to that unique player. This player is an entertainer and has no flaws when he plays. He brings to the court special moves and excitement. These players often move from park to park, city to city, state to state, and even country to country. It's all about world recognition and world domination on the court. Very few can be called legends and those who are earned the right to be called legends. Anyone can rule a court on any giving day or anyone can be a "King of the Court" at their playground but not just anyone can be a "PLAYGROUND LEGEND"!!!! Do you have what it takes?

THE GREATEST PLAYGROUND LEGEND EVER!!!

Rafer Alston a.k.a. Skip 2 My Lou

Rafer Alston a.k.a. Skip 2 My Lou is the ultimate streetball legend. Since junior high school he's been playing basketball. At a young age he was realize as "King of the Courts". He dominated and entertained any park he was challenged by. During his High School career, he was the must feared player in whatever gym he walked in. He dominated all competition and was able to grab two division titles for Cardozo High School. Every summer he continued to go on park tours with the normal stop to Holcomb Rucker Park in Manhattan. Rucker park made him famous and it was there he earn the title of "Playground Legend" and also it was there that he earned his world known name "Skip 2 My Lou". He earned that name by his signature move of skipping with the basketball embarrassing his competition. He continued his career in the college basketball world. He attended Fresno State and was the starting point guard in his second year on the basketball team. After his junior year, he entered the NBA draft and was 39th overall that year. He played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, and is currently  playing for the Miami Heat. Rafer Alston doesn't get to do all the tricks and entertain the crowd like he's use to but like many other players, it's a dream come true to play in the NBA which means it hard work with no play. No matter where you go, if your talking about playground basketball, one name pops up all the time...Rafer Alston a.k.a. Skip 2 My Lou.

Kobe Bryant..."An Instant Legend"

Kobe Bryant is a well known basketball player who has achieve three NBA titles. Everyone knows he's a "King of the Court" but is he a "Playground Legend"? Recently in the summer of 2002, Kobe Bryant made a trip to Holcomb Rucker Park. The same place where Rafer Alston dominated and received his titles. Kobe Bryant put the ball gear on and had a great showing. Offensively and defensively he dominated the competition. He gave the crowd the biggest show of the summer. At the end of the game, he was declared as an instant legend because of his great skill and domination of others. Kobe Bryant isn't the best that did it in a park but sure is the fastest at getting "Playground Legend" recognition.
